You sent the proposal. Now silence.

Every “just bumping this up” makes you look more desperate. These 3 messages get ghosted prospects talking again, and get you a clear yes or no.

The one rule: ask for a no.

A no-question feels safe to answer. People love to correct you, and a correction puts you back in the conversation.

  1. Message 1

    The no-question

“Hey [Name], haven't heard back since the proposal. Have you decided to go a different direction?”

    When
3–4 days after sending the proposal.
    Why it works
Most replies start with “No, not at all…”, and then they tell you what's actually holding them back.
  2. Message 2

    The specific question

“Quick one, [Name]: is it the investment, the timing, or something in the proposal itself that doesn't fit yet?”

    When
If they replied vaguely, or 3 days after message 1.
    Why it works
You name the three real reasons. Picking one is easier than writing an explanation.
  3. Message 3

    The takeaway

“[Name], I'll assume this isn't a priority right now and close it out on my side. If anything changes, you know where to find me.”

    When
One week after message 2, last message.
    Why it works
A calm exit gets more replies than another nudge. And if it doesn't, you get your pipeline back.
